This summer, it was our privilege to have Joslyn Armstrong serve as our Volunteer Coordinator. Joslyn jumped right in, coordinating our volunteer service for two Lakeland Flying Tigers’ baseball games which included a super-busy 4th of July game. She also took on the project of contacting dialysis patients who would be losing their Saturday transportation due to cuts in our public transit system and then contacting potential volunteer drivers for those patients.

But Joslyn did more than coordinate our volunteers and their service. She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty and she’s not afraid of hard work. Not only did she contact and schedule all of the baseball volunteers, she also worked the games and she went to the homes of several of our clients to help volunteers with yard work and house cleaning. Joslyn is a “hands-on” girl! And the best part is that she did every bit of it with a beautiful smile-see that smile in the picture below-and a willing attitude.

A graduate of Texas Tech University with a Master’s Degree, Joslyn left us last week to pursue her Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy at FSU (go ‘Noles!). It has been a pleasure working with her and although she will be missed, we know that she will go on to do great things!
